The Great Getaway!

I need to take time out of time. Most of the days I feel like I’m on everyone else’s time. I hear everyone else’s needs, I provide relief to people who need me and at the end have nothing left for myself. For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been coming home to my family and been out like a light by 9:30. I’ve been in mid-sentence and next thing my children know their mother is knocked out sleeping.

I have to change things for myself. Yes, I’m a mother. Yes, I’m a manager. Yes, I’m engaged but I need not forget about myself. Taking time out for me to reflect, relax and rejuvenate is a must. This will allow me to be a better version of myself so that I don’t regularly feel drained from all the outside noise. Don’t get me wrong the noises that I hear they are valid because they are apart of life but I have to balance and take care of myself.

With that being said, Pedi and Mani is a must-do. Before, I made valid excuses not to get my nails and toes done, but now I’m taking that time. I’m not an every 2 week type of mom—maybe a month, if I don’t break a nail. This is the path to the great getaway. This getaway is for me . Not a one time thing. I’m thinking every two months, have a 3 day weekend somewhere that can be out of my own state. Every month , I will take myself out somewhere in my own area where I live.

I just went somewhere for the month of February in my own city. I went to a winery called Formosa. It was great, the atmosphere and everything. I dressed up because before I had kids, that fashion was and still is my thing . I’m getting back to it.

Next month in March I will be visiting St Augustine for the very first time. Wait for the Itinerary because this is going to be exciting for Me. I spend most of my time thinking and everyone else and less of myself but I’m here to say that stops now. St Augustine here I come.
